About AIP

The pioneers of vehicle diagnostics, calibration and repair intelligence, together on one platform.

The Automotive Intelligence Platform was formed in July 2026 when asTech and Opus IVS combined, bringing BlueDriver, Repairify International and a family of companies that each helped the repair industry keep pace with the vehicle. Our mission is simple to state and hard to do: make sure every advanced vehicle leaves the shop repaired the way its manufacturer intended.

What AIP means

AI

When you think of AI, you think of artificial intelligence. We think of it as Automotive Intelligence.

IP

When you think of IP, you think of intellectual property. We think of it as an Intelligent Platform.

Together they create the elements of a seamless platform of automotive intelligence, with access throughout the entire vehicle repair process.

How the industry changed, and how we changed with it

Thirty years ago a car had a handful of computers and a repair was mechanical. Today a vehicle carries dozens of electronic control units, cameras and radars that brake, steer and warn on the driver's behalf, and almost every repair touches one of them. Each step in that evolution created a new problem for repairers, and at each step one of the companies now in AIP was built to solve it.

1996
The industry: OBD-II becomes standard on every new car sold in the United States. For the first time, a technician can plug in and read what the vehicle's computers see.
AIP: Drew Technologies is founded in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and goes on to help write the SAE J2534 standard that lets independent shops reprogram vehicles with the manufacturer's own software.
2000s
The industry: Reprogramming becomes part of ordinary repair as modules multiply, and the first driver assistance systems, adaptive cruise, blind-spot monitoring and lane departure warning, reach mainstream vehicles.
AIP: Drew Technologies builds the CarDAQ and J2534 Toolbox that put OEM reprogramming in independent shops; Autologic in the United Kingdom, AutoEnginuity and Farsight build the multi-brand diagnostic software that gives technicians coverage across makes.
2009
The industry: Collision repairers face a vehicle they can no longer fully diagnose without the manufacturer's tool, and the manufacturers begin publishing what a proper repair requires.
AIP: asTech is founded in Plano, Texas, with a patented idea: a device on the shop's bench connected to a remote center where certified technicians run the OEM's software. Remote OEM diagnostics for collision repair is born.
2015 to 2019
The industry: Advanced driver assistance systems spread across the fleet and the manufacturers publish position statements requiring pre- and post-repair scans. Calibration after a repair moves from rare to routine.
AIP: Repairify is formed around asTech in 2015 and builds the largest remote scanning and calibration service in North America. Drew Technologies comes together with Autologic, AutoEnginuity, Farsight and BlueLink, laying the foundation of Opus IVS; RED opens Europe for Repairify.
2020 to 2022
The industry: Knowing which calibrations a repair requires becomes the hard part. Insurers, repairers and manufacturers need one answer they can all trust, before the work starts.
AIP: Opus IVS is formed in 2019, uniting Drew Technologies, Autologic, Farsight and BlueLink, and launches ADAS MAP, the identification platform that reads the estimate and returns the required operations. Repairify unites its family in 2021, adding adasThink, the Toronto-born identification software, alongside asTech, BlueDriver and RED; AutoTechcelerators joins Opus IVS. Together the two families cover identification, service, tools, software and OEM access.
2024 to 2026
The industry: Automatic emergency braking becomes required equipment on new vehicles from 2029, secure gateways and certificate-based access change who can talk to the car, and conditional automation arrives. The repair has to be right, and provable.
AIP: On July 2, 2026, asTech and Opus IVS combine to form the Automotive Intelligence Platform: one platform underneath the brands, from identification through documentation, with direct license agreements with the major manufacturers and certified technicians behind every repair.
Software that drives the scan tool, technicians equipped with camera-and-projection glasses, and robots that assist in the calibration bay. The vehicle will keep changing; the platform is built to change with it.

Where we come from: twelve companies, one vision

Every AIP capability traces back to a founder team that solved one hard problem in vehicle repair. Customers keep buying from the brands they know; underneath them is one platform, one set of OEM relationships and one team.

Why we came together

A windshield, a bumper, an alignment or a replaced module can leave a safety system out of calibration, and the manufacturer's procedures decide what the repair requires. Shops needed three things at once: to know what the vehicle needs, to perform the work with the right software, and to prove it was done.

asTech had the customers and the service network; Opus IVS had the identification technology, the tools and the OEM software relationships. Neither could deliver the whole repair alone. Together, with BlueDriver and Repairify International, they cover the full chain: identify, scan, calibrate and program, and document, on one platform, under the brands customers already know.

What we do

Identify

ADAS MAP reads the estimate and the VIN and tells the repairer which scans, calibrations and programming the manufacturer requires, before the work starts.

Scan

OEM scans with licensed manufacturer software, or our own aftermarket scan where the vehicle allows it, delivered remotely or on the shop's own tools.

Calibrate and program

Static and dynamic ADAS calibrations and module programming, performed by certified master technicians remotely, in the shop, or by the shop on our platform.

Document

Reports, procedure references and the manufacturer's own position statements travel with every repair, so the shop, the insurer and the vehicle owner see the same record.

Our shared vision. Together, we transform automotive repair by connecting technology and human expertise with a shared commitment to our customers, our industry, and each other.

Our ambition. Every vehicle repaired right: we give repairers the expertise, the tools and the OEM access to identify what a repair needs, perform it and document it.
